Welcome 

Our holiday home which is situated on a beautiful holiday complex on the outskirts of Filey. We bought the cottage after a short break in 2016 where we fell in love with The Bay, the town of Filey and the most amazing beach I have walked on in the UK.

Inside the cottage

Enter into the hallway with downstairs toilet and washing facilities. The open plan living area is to the right with a large corner leather sofa, dining area for 4 people and well equipped kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher and microwave oven. The patio doors open out to the patio area with table and chairs, perfect for a spot of sun in the afternoon. 

On the Site

You will find in the middle of the complex and open daily The Jon Paul Jones serving food and drink, The Bayside kitchen - a coffee shop which serves breakfast, cakes, sandwiches and afternoon teas and the leisure centre with free access to the gym and swimming pool using our leisure centre pass. 

About Filey

Filey is an unspoilt quiet seaside town between Scarborough and Bridlington, with a few miles of stunning beach,  Filey Brigg, which can be explored at low tide and a variety of shops, resturants, public houses and amusements.  Ridgeway cottage is roughly a 40 minute walk along the beach (at low tide) to the centre of Filey, head to the beach and turn left. Turn right on the beach to find The Beach Cafe at Hunmanby Gap, a hidden gem serving homemade cakes, freshly cooked breakfasts and meals with the most amazing view of the unspoilt beach. The golf club allows entry to the bar and restaurant for a small cost and has amazing views from the balcony  looking out to sea. 
Out and About
Within 5 minutes drive is the centre of Filey and the village of Hunmanby both have some lovely traditional pubs and restaurants as well as a range of independent shops. 
Within 15 minutes drive you can visit the lighthouse at Flamborough, North landing and the seaside town of Bridlington, Scarborough is a 30 minute drive with Robin hoods bay and Whitby about an hour up the coast.

Please note - we do not allow pets in the cottage and it is a no smoking property.

To make a booking or ask a question

1. Check your dates are available on the calendar above and then contact us either by phone or by filling in the contact form below. 

(Please note - you can book using our VRBO if you prefer but the price will differ from the ones listed as they charge booking fees.) 

2. Read and agree our terms and conditions.

3. If the cottage is available and you wish to proceed with the booking we will hold dates for 5 days to give you chance to fill in our booking form and send the deposit.

Terms and Conditions

Payment – A £50 deposit is required to secure your booking with the balance due four weeks before your holiday. A reminder will be sent out.

Cancellations – If you have to cancel up to 4 weeks before your stay we will return your deposit. If you cancel within 4 weeks of your date when you have paid in full you will be liable for the full amount. We will however do our best to get another booking, if this happens we will return you money less a £25 administration fee.

Included in the price of your holiday – Beds made up on arrival, one hand and one bath towel per person. Hand towel in downstairs toilet, bath mat and tea towel. Gas, electric and water are also included. A pass for the leisure centre which needs to be kept safe and returned to the drawer at the end of the stay.

Maximum Occupancy – The cottage sleeps 4 people and an infant that would use a cot.

Fire safety - Our cottage is compliant with the new Fire regulations imposed from 1st October 2023. As part of our risk assessment it is essential that you do not bring candles to use in the property and the charging of electric bike and scooters prohibited.

Pets – We do not allow any pets in Ridgeway Cottage

Check in and out times – The cottage will be available from 4pm on the first day of your holiday and we ask you leave by 10am on the day of departure.
Electric car charging - There are two communal charging points now on site but it is prohibited to charge you vehicle at the cottage
